The Passages to Canada Speakers' Bureau is a diverse group of over 600 immigrants and refugees who have volunteered to share their experiences with youth and community groups. The Bureau consists of 3 specialized Modules, each addressing a different aspect of the immigrant experience.
Immigration/Refugee: Immigrants and refugess who have made a significant contribution to the community share their stories of coming to Canada with youth and new Canadians.
Anti-Racism: Immigrants/refugee Members with a commitment to Anti-Racism work share their experiences and encourage youth to speak out agaist racism.
Employer: Businesspeople who have developed effective diversity strategies speak about their experiences and present a summary of best practices developed by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC). The TRIEC study demonstrates how employers currently integrate immigrants into their workforces and how their businesses have benefited as a result. The summary provides insight into the challenges and opportunities available to employers who are drawing on the strong pool of talent among new immigrants.
