Nino Ricci



Nino Ricci was born in 1959 in Leamington, Ontario, to parents from the Molise region of Italy. Since attaining his B.A. in English literature at York University, and a MasterÕs degree in Creative Writing at Concordia, Ricci has gone on to achieve great acclaim as an author and journalist. His first novel, Lives of the Saints, was published in nine countries in seven languages and was on CanadaÕs bestseller list for 75 weeks. Lives of the Saints also earned Ricci, the F.G. Bressani Prize, the Smithbooks/Books in Canada First Novel Award, and the Governor GeneralÕs Award for Fiction. RicciÕs second novel, In a Glass House, was hailed by The New York Times as a Ōhaunting, lyrical, and intelligent coming of age novelĶ. The story of Italian life and immigration detailed in RicciÕs first and second novels resurface in Where She Has Gone, the final work in the trilogy. In each novel, Ricci provides insight into the Italian-Canadian immigrant experience.
